Nigeria approved trading of blockchain-based versions of traditional shares through the NASD OTC Securities Exchange, per Bloomberg — activating the NASD Digital Securities Platform, the country's first regulated infrastructure for issuing, trading, clearing and settling tokenized securities, built with Blockstation. NASD expects its first public digital securities offering in early September. The approval builds on groundwork laid since 2023 and the SEC's incubation programme, which has admitted nine digital-asset firms including tokenization platforms.
