Western Union launched Stablecard on August 4 with stablecoin-card firm Rain: a digital wallet plus Visa secured credit card that lets customers receive money transfers as USDPT — Western Union's own dollar stablecoin, issued by Anchorage Digital on Solana — and spend the balance anywhere Visa is accepted. It's live in 37 markets where local currencies are unstable, targeting more than 60 by year-end. Western Union's network moved $107.4 billion in 2025; USDPT's circulation stands near $7.4 million.
