The Balance stablecoin collapsed approximately 99% after an attacker fed a fake Bitcoin price into the 42DAO protocol, draining its Bitcoin vault and causing the stablecoin to lose its dollar peg. The exploit was separately reported as resulting in approximately $912,000 in losses.
