Two Buyers Are the Corporate Bid
Businesses added approximately 193,000 BTC in 2026 while individuals net sold 93,000, per a River Financial report. Strategy and Strive together added 197,000 BTC — more than 100% of net business purchases, with all other treasury companies combined adding 8,000. River’s figures also show individuals net sold ~140,000 BTC in the first half, then net bought 107,000 in Q3. Strive separately bought 638 BTC this week using preferred stock proceeds.
Corporate Bid: two buyers aren't a crowd
193,000 Bitcoin bought by businesses this year sounds like the whole corporate world piling in. It isn’t. Strategy and Strive alone bought 197,000 — more than the entire corporate total.
That’s not a typo. Every other company holding Bitcoin as a treasury asset, combined, added just 8,000 — and the rest of the corporate world net sold. Two companies ARE the corporate bid.
The individual side has its own twist. Yes, individuals net sold 93,000 this year — but that’s an old story wearing this year’s date. They sold 140,000 in the first half, then turned round and bought 107,000 in the third quarter. Retail is buying again. The corporates, outside the big two, have gone quiet.
For a long-term holder, the concentration is the point. On the fund side, one desk does most of the ETF buying. On the corporate side, two companies do all of it. Durable demand is a thousand hands. Right now it’s three names — and when they slow down, the floor goes with them.
