BitBox Finds Its Own Flaws First
BitBox's Own AI Audit Caught Two Severe Wallet Flaws — Patched Before Anyone Was Hurt
Swiss hardware-wallet maker BitBox disclosed two severe firmware vulnerabilities — a memory-corruption flaw in unconfigured Multi-edition devices that could enable malicious firmware installation, and a Silent Payments issue that could lock bitcoin to unintended addresses — found through internal review "including with frontier AI models." Both are patched in firmware 9.26.5; BitBox reports no exploitation and no lost funds, with exploit paths requiring successful phishing first. The Bitcoin-only edition never contained the affected code.
