Before today, an exchange wanting to list Zano had to crawl the entire chain and rebuild a balance from scattered pieces — expensive, fiddly work that quietly kept the coin off most platforms. Gateway Addresses let a service read one account balance instead. Setting one up asks no one's permission, and each registration permanently destroys 100 ZANO as its fee — no company collects it.

The real move is cheaper reachability, not louder privacy. The shield over who paid whom is untouched; only the plumbing services hate got easier.
